SysDVR Troubleshooting
Most SysDVR problems come down to four things: mismatched versions, the wrong streaming mode, a blocked network path, or a game that refuses video recording. Run the first checks below, then match your symptom to a fix.

- Versions match + reboot. The console sysmodule and the SysDVR Client must be the same version (v6.3). After updating either side, reboot the console — sysmodules only reload at boot.
- Wait ~20 seconds. The full build of SysDVR starts roughly 20 seconds after boot. If the Settings app says it is not running, wait and try again before changing anything. (The USB-Only build has no Settings app support at all.)
- Capture-button test. Long-press the capture button in your game. If the console can record a clip, the game is compatible. If recording is blocked, you need dvr-patches — and menus, the Home screen and applet homebrew never stream by design.
- Check the connection basics. Same local network on both devices, no router/AP isolation (public hotspots often block device-to-device traffic), and the client allowed through your firewall. Your internet speed is irrelevant — local signal strength is what matters.
Console Problems
“SysDVR Is Not Running” or “Outdated” in Settings
Symptom: the Settings app can’t see the sysmodule, or calls it outdated right after an update.
Read the guide →Atmosphère Won’t Boot After Installing SysDVR
Symptom: the console fails to boot after copying the files — usually sysmodule memory pressure from heavy modules like sys-ftpd.
Read the guide →Goldleaf / nxmtp Stopped Working
Symptom: USB file tools break while SysDVR holds the USB interface. Switch modes, or disable and reboot.

SysDVR Client Can’t Find Your Console
Symptom: the console never appears in the client list — discovery packets, firewall prompts and router isolation.
Read the guide →USB Device Not Recognized on Windows
Symptom: USB mode connects to nothing. Reinstall the driver the current way — from inside the client.

Black Screen on SysDVR
Symptom: audio or a black window instead of gameplay — recording-blocked games, the keyframe wait, and UI exclusion.

Symptom: delay that grows over time or choppy video. A/V sync toggle, cache settings, and the LAN > same-router > 5GHz order.

Symptom: picture but silence — output-device checks, the Windows alternative audio option, and why Linux users must not run the client as root.

The official support channels are the project’s GitHub issues and its Discord (linked from the official Wiki). Include your SysDVR version on both sides, your streaming mode, and what the First Checks showed — it speeds everything up.
