6.x Releases

SysDVR v6.3

February 10, 2026 — current release

  • Fixes a service initialization issue that made the system settings crash when SysDVR ran alongside ldn_mitm.
  • Recorded video clips now use the AAC audio codec, so clips play directly on Windows without conversion steps.
  • The –file command-line option for recording clips is back.
  • The client remembers the last IP address used for a manual network connection.

SysDVR v6.2.2

November 17, 2025

  • Sysmodule and Settings app rebuilt with the latest libnx for console firmware 21.0 support.
  • Memory guidance: the full build uses slightly less than 1 MB of RAM; the USB-Only build about 500 KB — relevant on firmware 20.0+, which reduced sysmodule memory.
  • A round of minor fixes for user-reported issues.

SysDVR v6.2.1

May 17, 2025

  • SysDVR can now be started and stopped without rebooting the console, from the Settings app or third-party sysmodule managers via toolbox.json.
  • Designed to reduce the impact of the tighter sysmodule memory limits introduced in firmware 20.0.

SysDVR v6.2

February 26, 2025

  • Android client gains 32-bit (armeabi-v7a) support, reaching many more devices — though weak hardware can still perform poorly.
  • New option to disable controller input when playing through a PC.
  • Client translations added: Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

SysDVR v6.1.1

May 11, 2024

  • A visual-only update, 100% compatible with v6.1 — no feature changes.
  • Added a French client translation and fixed internationalization glitches.

SysDVR v6.1

May 5, 2024

  • Client localization arrives: English, German, Polish, Italian and Simplified Chinese at launch.
  • Android minimum lowered to Android 8 — still 64-bit devices only.
  • The console screen can be turned off while streaming; client UI can be navigated with a gamepad; in-app volume control added.

SysDVR v6.0

The big rewrite

  • Completely rewritten native cross-platform GUI client — standard builds just run, with no .NET install to manage.
  • First Android client (Android 10+, 64-bit) and local network discovery: the client finds consoles automatically, no more typing IP addresses.
  • Screenshots and video-clip recording built into the GUI; the streaming protocol is fully documented for third-party clients.
  • Some command-line features were dropped in the rewrite (–stdout/–mpv relay, client –rtsp relay, –file — the last one returned in v6.3). From this release, the Android client is distributed only via GitHub.

Full release notes and every historical build are on the official GitHub releases page. Updating? Read how to update SysDVR first — versions on the console and client must match.
